Seventy-third session of the WHO Regional Committee for Africa

The Seventy-third session of the WHO Regional Committee for Africa was held in a hybrid format from 26 August to 1 September 2023 under Special procedures for the conduct of the hybrid session of the Regional Committee for Africa.  A reception hosted by the Government of Botswana and the Regional Director for Africa was held on the first day. The RC73 took place in a year of celebration, commemorating WHO’s 75th anniversary since its founding in 1948.The RC73 had an agenda of 20 items, 11 of which were on substantive matters. The Regional Committee ultimately decided that its Seventy-fourth session will be held in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo, from 26 to 30 August 2024.
