Kigali, 5 June 2021 – It was only two years ago, on 1 May 2019, that Dr. Kasonde Mwinga was appointed as the World Health Organization (WHO) Representative in Rwanda. Today Dr. Kasonde passes on the torch to the Incoming Acting WHO Rwanda Country Representative Dr. Ndoungou Salla Ba. 

03 May 2021 — Fifty-eight (28) new COVID-19 cases were identified out of 2856 samples tested today. This brings the cumulative number of confirmed cases to twenty-five thousand, three hundred, and eleven (25311). To date, twenty-three thousand, five hundred, and thirteen (23513) patients have recovered, including one seventy-one (71) in the past 24 hours. The number of active cases is one thousand, four hundred, and sixty-one (1461) and three hundred and thirty-seven (337) deaths. 

02 May 2021 — Twenty-eight (28) new COVID-19 cases were identified out of 3763 samples tested today. This brings the cumulative number of confirmed cases to twenty-five thousand, two hundred, and fifty-three (25253). To date, twenty-three thousand, four hundred, and forty-two (23442) patients have recovered, including one hundred and eleven (111) in the past 24 hours. The number of active cases is one thousand, four hundred, and seventy-four (1474) and three hundred and thirty-seven (337) deaths. 

02 May 2021 — Twenty-eight (28) new COVID-19 cases were identified out of 3763 samples tested today. This brings the cumulative number of confirmed cases to twenty-five thousand, two hundred, and fifty-three (25253). To date, twenty-three thousand, four hundred, and forty-two (23442) patients have recovered, including one hundred and eleven (111) in the past 24 hours. The number of active cases is one thousand, four hundred, and seventy-four (1474) and three hundred and thirty-seven (337) deaths. 

01 May 2021 — One hundred and nine (109) new COVID-19 cases were identified out of 3478 samples tested today. This brings the cumulative number of confirmed cases to twenty-five thousand, two hundred, and twenty-five (25225). To date, twenty-three thousand, three hundred, and forty-five (23345) patients have recovered, including one hundred and eleven (111) in the past 24 hours. The number of active cases is one thousand, five hundred, and forty-five (1545) and three hundred and thirty-five (335) deaths. 

30 April 2021 — One hundred and twenty-one (121) new COVID-19 cases were identified out of 4868 samples tested today. This brings the cumulative number of confirmed cases twenty-five thousand, one hundred, and sixteen (25116). To date, twenty-three thousand, two hundred, and thirty-four (23234) patients have recovered, including twenty-eight (28) in the past 24 hours. The number of active cases is one thousand, five hundred, and forty-seven (1547) and three hundred and thirty-five (335) deaths.

29 April 2021 — One hundred and seven (107) new COVID-19 cases were identified out of 4626 samples tested today. This brings the cumulative number of confirmed cases twenty-four thousand, nine hundred, and ninety-five (24995). To date, twenty-three thousand, two hundred, and six (23206) patients have recovered, including thirty-one (31) in the past 24 hours. The number of active cases is one thousand, four hundred, and fifty-six (1456) and three hundred and thirty-two (333) deaths. 

28 April 2021 — Seventy-four (74) new COVID-19 cases were identified out of 4530 samples tested today. This brings the cumulative number of confirmed cases twenty-four thousand, eight hundred, and eighty-eight (24888). To date, twenty-three thousand, one hundred, and seventy-five (23175) patients have recovered, including eighty-six (86) in the past 24 hours. The number of active cases is one thousand, three hundred, and eighty-one (1381) and three hundred and thirty-two (332) deaths. 

27 April 2021 — One hundred and thirty-seven (137) new COVID-19 cases were identified out of 5022 samples tested today. This brings the cumulative number of confirmed cases twenty-four thousand, eight hundred, and forteen (24814). To date, twenty-three thousand, and eighty-nine (23089) patients have recovered, including eighty-four (84) in the past 24 hours. The number of active cases is one thousand, three hundred, and ninety-four (1394) and three hundred and thirty-one (331) deaths.
