Gaborone, BOTSWANA - 24 November 2017: A seven person delegation from Ghana is in Botswana to benchmark on Health Promotion and Health in All Policies.
The second meeting of Directors of Policy and Planning and of Public Health Programs from the Ministries of Health of 27 countries gathered in Kintele, Brazzaville, Republic of Congo, from 22nd to 24th November 2017, to deliberate on how to take forward the Regional Actions Framework on strengthening health systems for UHC and SDGs. They worked along with the WHO technical staff from the Health Systems and Services Cluster at all the three WHO levels as well as staff from other Clusters at the Regional Office;
In 2015, WHO worked with the Ministry of Health to update its national gender-based violence training manual. This manual is now used alongside WHO’s clinical and policy guidelines and its clinical handbook on responding to intimate partner violence and sexual violence in weeklong workshops to train health care providers, community leaders and workers in the judicial system on how to deliver services to survivors of violence.

A meeting on an interagency framework of collaboration for implementation of the National Strategy and Plan of Action for Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Development in Ethiopia (NSPA-Pharma) was conducted in Addis Ababa from 14-15 November, 2017. The meeting was co-organized by WHO in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry and Ministry of Health and attended by various national & international organizations including UN agencies, international development partners, Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Health Ethiopia and other stakeholders working in the area.
