Borno state launches awareness campaign to commemorate 2022 World Breastfeeding Week...

Maiduguri, 3 August, 2022 - In a bid to create awareness, promote and sustain exclusive breastfeeding, especially for infant’s health and survival, Borno state government through the wife of the Executive Governor of Borno state, Dr Falmata Zulum, launched a campaign. 

The 2022 theme for World Breastfeeding Week, ‘Step up for Breastfeeding: Educate and Support', seeks to involve governments, communities, and individuals. The theme aims to raise awareness about sustainable breastfeeding environment.

Adamawa State strengthens awareness campaign on Monkeypox

Yola, 3 August, 2022 - As the threat of monkeypox looms globally, public health authorities in Adamawa state have intensified awareness campaigns to control the ongoing outbreak in Nigeria. 

The State Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), has initiated a sensitization campaign through WHO-trained community health educators (champions) to increase the awareness of the disease amongst residents of the state.

Stumbling on the information that, “tobacco kills half its users’’ further reinforced her resolve to dedicate quality time to sensitizing people on the harmful effects of the deadly substance on health and the environment. 

Presently she says, “I am a threat to tobacco.”
