Luanda – Angola held the first National Forum on Immunization and Primary Health Care on 16 June this year, reaffirming the strategic importance of immunization as a platform to accelerate the provision of integrated, equitable and sustainable services, and guarantee universal coverage of health.

Luanda, June 29, 2022 – The Ministry of Health (MINSA) and its strategic partners, today in Luanda, defined a regular cooperation mechanism for the coordination of initiatives and information sharing, aimed at strengthening primary health care and reaching of the Sustainable Development Goals.

Luanda on June 23, 2022: The World Health Organization in Angola, in partnership with the Hospital Management of the Complexo Hospitalar Cardio Pulmonares Cardial Don Alexandre do Nascimento, held today in Luanda, a training session with health professionals on monkeypox , a zoonotic disease caused by the monkeypox virus.

Luanda, May 31th 2022 – Every year, more than 8 million people die worldwide due to smoking, of which 7 million result from direct consumption of tobacco and 1.2 million due to exposure of non-smokers to secondhand smoke. To educate the younger population about the dangers of smoking, the National Anti-Drug Fighting Institute (INALUD) held today in Luanda, another edition of the Writing and Drawing contest “Limpid Dreams Without Tobacco”.

Luanda, Angola, September 29th, 2021 - The World Health Organization (WHO) and its strategic partners launched today in Luanda, the process of drafting the WHO Cooperation Strategy with Angola for the period of 2022 to 2026, aimed at strengthening synergies and defining guidelines that will contribute to improving health in Angola.

Luanda, 07th June 2021 – The WHO Representative in Angola, Dr. Djamila Cabral, met in Luanda the Minister of Education of Angola, Dr. Luísa Grilo, to whom she addressed issues related to the cooperation with WHO, on the availability to support the country in developing a robust school health plan.

As the consequences of COVID-19 become more tangible, WFP, WHO and UNICEF are working together to protect children and families in Angola from catastrophic levels of deprivation through strengthening essential services, including health, food security, nutrition, hygiene, and education.

LUANDA, 16 March 2021 – The World Food Programme (WFP), World Health Organisation (WHO) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) welcome a contribution of US$ one million from the Government of Japan to support various interventions in Angola.
