Update COVID-19 11 January 2021

11 January 2021 — One hundred and fifty-four (154) new COVID-19 cases were identified out of 1890 samples tested today. This brings the cumulative number of confirmed cases nine thousand, seven hundred, and eighty-four (9784). To date, six thousand, nine hundred, and seventy-four (6974) patients have recovered, with no one in the past 24 hours. The number of active cases is two thousand, six hundred, and eighty-six (2686) and one hundred and twenty-four (124) deaths. The 4 new deaths are 2 female of 45 and 73 years and a male of 70 years in Kigali, and a male of 86 years old in Rulindo District.

The new cases are in Kigali (88), Gisagara (11), Gicumbi (11), Huye (10), Rwamagana (9), Karongi (6), Nyagatare (4), Musanze (3), Rubavu (3), Rusizi (2), Kamonyi (2), Bugesera (2), Muhanga (2), Rulindo (1), and Nyabihu (1); heightened vigilance is required everywhere. 

The COVID-19 prevention measures announced by the Government of Rwanda must continue to be rigorously observed, especially frequent hand-washing and physical distancing. In addition, face masks must be worn in public and multi-family compounds.
Withholding information related to contact tracing or COVID-19 symptoms, jeopardises public safety and will be punished in accordance with applicable laws.
