Update COVID-19 06 March 2021

06 March 2021 — Eighty-three (83) new COVID-19 cases were identified out of 5122 samples tested today. This brings the cumulative number of confirmed cases nineteen thousand, five hundred, and nine (19509). To date, seventeen thousand, eight hundred, and ten (17810) patients have recovered, including fifty-nine (59) in the past 24 hours. The number of active cases is one thousand, four hundred, and forty-two (1442) and two hundred, and sixty-seven (267) deaths. 


The new cases are in Nyamagabe (16), Kigali City (11), Nyanza (9), Gisagara (8), Muhanga (6), Gicumbi (5), Kirehe (5), Gakenke (4), Rubavu (4), Rwamagana (4), Ruhango (3), Nyagatare (3), Ngoma (2), Rusizi (1), Huye (1), and Kamonyi (1); heightened vigilance is required everywhere.

The COVID-19 prevention measures announced by the Government of Rwanda must continue to be rigorously observed, especially frequent hand-washing and physical distancing. In addition, face masks must be worn in public and multi-family compounds.
Withholding information related to contact tracing or COVID-19 symptoms, jeopardises public safety and will be punished in accordance with applicable laws.
