WHO and the Borno State Ministry of Health (SMOH) prepositioned 10 complete Interagency Diarrhoeal Disease Kits (IDDKs) in Maiduguri, Borno State. The kits will support emergency preparedness and response to diarrheal diseases and outbreaks in State.

The Borno State Ministry of Health surveillance reports indicate that malaria is the leading cause of morbidity and mortality among internally displaced persons (IDPs) and host communities. WHO and health partners have been supporting the SMOH to develop the first draft of the state malaria operational plan to reduce malaria mortality.
