Kampala, 2 April 2014 - The World Health Organization (WHO) donated 52 motorcycles to the Ministry of Health to strengthen surveillance in districts, a motor vehicle in support of gender and human rights programme, and equipment to be used in the Emergency Operations Centre to monitor diseases of epidemic potential.

Kampala, 27th March 2015:- Mulago National Referral Hospital received  Rotaviral testing equipment from the World Health Organization (WHO) to be used in the sentinel surveillance site to boost Rotavirus surveillance before introducing Rotavirus vaccine in 2016.

Gulu, 27th March 2015:- The World Tuberculosis (TB) day was held at the Kaunda grounds, in Gulu district under the theme “reach the 60,000, patients in Uganda” to celebrate the reductions in numbers of TB patients in Uganda. 

Hoima, 27 March 2015:- The First Lady of Uganda Hon. Janet Kataha Museveni,  who is also the “Champion” of  the Elimination of Mother to Child Transmission (EMTCT) of HIV/AIDS campaign has   called upon men to be more cooperative in the fight against HIV/AIDS.  She said this at the  launch of the campaign for the Western Region  held at Boma in Hoima district.

Kampala, 11th March 2015 - The National Debrief Meeting on integrated Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI), Surveillance, Post Introduction Evaluation and Immunization review took place at Hotel Africana, in Kampala. This followed meetings and field visits held for the last two weeks to develop a new comprehensive Multi-year Strategic Plan (cMYP) for Uganda.

Kampala, 18th February 2015- Uganda hosted the Regional Meeting on Accelerating Nutrition Improvements (ANI) in Africa  that reviewed implementation status of the project from the 11 participating countries. At the same time, delegates analyzed and documented successes, challenges and lessons learned in addition to mapping ways of accelerating delivery of all targets by December 2015 when the project ends.

Kampala, 2nd February 2015 -- The Ebola virus disease (EVD) continues to ravage Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea in West Africa. Uganda, through WHO, international NGOs and partners continues to support the response efforts sending teams of health workers to help contain the disease.

Kabale, 8th December 2014:- The World Health Organization Representative (WR) for Uganda, Dr. Wondimagegnehu Alemu visited Kigezi Region, Uganda where he visited Kabale Regional Referral Hospital, Hamurwa Health Centre IV, Muko Health Centre IV, Rubanda Health Centre II, Kihanga Health Centre III, Mparo Health Centre IV and Kisiizi Hospital.

Kabarole, 8th December 2014:-  Uganda commemorated the World Aids Day (1st December 2014) at Fort Portal Boma Grounds in Kabarole district under the theme  “Getting to Zero, My responsibility”.

Buwenge, 26th November 2014:-  The Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust Initiative to support trachoma elimination in Uganda was launched in Buwenge at Kagoma Primary School Grounds. The Chief Guest, Hon. Elioda Tumwesigye said that the most important aspect of dealing with trachoma was to first agree on its magnitude. He said, “Trachoma is more in women and children than in men.
