Seventy-first session of the WHO Regional Committee for Africa

The Seventy-first session of the WHO Regional Committee for Africa was held in a virtual format from 24 to 26 August 2021under Special procedures for the conduct of the virtual session of the Regional Committee for Africa.  A special event on the COVID-19 response in the Region was held on the first day, while a special event on the vaccine-derived polio outbreak response and polio transition was held on the second day. In terms of issues emanating from global mandates, the Seventy-first Regional Committee considered the document on the revision of the Programme budget 2022-2023 and on Sustainable financing, as well as WHO Transformation. The Committee also adopted eight technical documents and eleven information documents of regional relevance. The Regional Committee ultimately decided that its Seventy-second session will be held in Lomé, Togo, on 22-26 August 2022.
