Update COVID-19 30 January 2021

30 January 2021 — Three hundred, and thirty-four (334) new COVID-19 cases were identified out of 11137 samples tested today. This brings the cumulative number of confirmed cases fifteen thousand, one hundred, and eighteen (15118). To date, nine thousand, eight hundred, and four (9804) patients have recovered, including two hundred, and eighty-five (285) in the past 24 hours. The number of active cases is five thousand, one hundred, and twenty-one (5121) and one hundred, and ninety-three (193) deaths. The 5 new deaths are one female of 104 years, and four male of 102, 69, 66, and 60 years old in Kigali.


The new cases are in Kigali (197), Gicumbi (49), Gakenke (13), Nyamagabe (11), Karongi (8), Ruhango (6), Bugesera (5), Nyanza (5), Ngoma (5), Kamonyi (5), Muhanga (5), Gatsibo (5), Nyagatare (3), Musanze (3), Rubavu (3),  Ngororero (1), Rulindo (1), Nyaruguru (1), and Huye (1); heightened vigilance is required everywhere.

The COVID-19 prevention measures announced by the Government of Rwanda must continue to be rigorously observed, especially frequent hand-washing and physical distancing. In addition, face masks must be worn in public and multi-family compounds.
Withholding information related to contact tracing or COVID-19 symptoms, jeopardises public safety and will be punished in accordance with applicable laws.
