The first United Nations ‘Solidarity’ flight started delivering vital medical supplies from last week to all countries in Africa where these are needed the most.  The flight was facilitated by the World Food Programme and included WHO supported supplies of face shields, gloves, goggles, gowns, masks, medical aprons and thermometers.

21 April 2020 — Three (3) new CoVID_19 cases were identified out of 1449 samples tested today. This brings the cumulative number of confirmed cases to a hundred and fifty (150). To date, eighty (80) patients have recovered, including four (4) in the past 24 hours. The number of active cases is sixty-six (66).

All active cases are in isolation in stable condition, and one patient is receiving oxygen as a precaution.

20 April 2020 — No new CoVID_19 case was identified out of one thousand two hundred ninety-nine (1299) samples tested today. The cumulative number of confirmed cases remains at a hundred and forty-seven (147). To date, eighty (80) patients have recovered, including four (4) in the past 24 hours. The number of active cases is now sixty-seven (67).

All active cases are in isolation in stable condition, and one patient is receiving oxygen as a precaution.

Juba, 21 April 2020 - COVID-19 cases have been reported in 52 African countries; many having wide-spread community transmission. 

Given the high risk of spread of COVID-19 in South Sudan, expanding the Dr John Garang Infectious Diseases Unit (IDU) is one of the key activities which will help protect South Sudanese citizens and residents.

19 April 2020 — Three (3) new CoVID_19 cases were identified out of 722 samples tested today. This brings the cumulative number of confirmed cases to a hundred and forty-seven (147). To date, seventy-six (76) patients have recovered, including seven (7) in the past 24 hours. The number of active cases remains at seventy-one (71).

All active cases are in isolation in stable condition, and one patient is receiving oxygen as a precaution.

18 April 2020 — One (1) new CoVID_19 cases was identified today. This brings the cumulative number of confirmed cases to a hundred and forty-four (144). To date, sixty-nine (69) patients have recovered, including four (4) in the past 24 hours. The number of active cases remains at seventy-five (75).

All active cases are in isolation in stable condition.

The COVID-19 prevention measures announced by the Government of Rwanda must continue to be rigorously observed, especially frequent hand-washing, physical distancing and staying at home.

17 April 2020 — Five (5) new CoVID_19 cases were identified today. This brings the cumulative number of confirmed cases to a hundred and forty-three (143). To date, sixty-five (65) patients have recovered, including five (5) in the past 24 hours. The number of active cases remains at seventy-eight (78).

All active cases are in isolation in stable condition.

The COVID-19 prevention measures announced by the Government of Rwanda must continue to be rigorously observed, especially frequent hand-washing, physical distancing and staying at home.

With 16 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country, the government is adapting a whole government and blended approach to the response.
