19 September 2020 — Eighteen (18) new COVID-19 cases were identified out of 2272 samples tested today. This brings the cumulative number of confirmed cases to four thousand, six hundred, and eighty-nine (4689). To date, two thousand, nine hundred, and ten (2910) patients have recovered and been discharged, including sixty-five (65) in the past 24 hours. The number of active cases is one thousand, seven hundred, and fifty-three (1753) and twenty-six (26) deaths.  The new death is a female Rwandans of 26 years old in Kigali.

18 September 2020 — Eighteen (18) new COVID-19 cases were identified out of 1549 samples tested today. This brings the cumulative number of confirmed cases to four thousand, six hundred, and seventy-one (4671). To date, two thousand, eight hundred, and forty-five (2845) patients have recovered and been discharged, including twenty-eight (28) in the past 24 hours. The number of active cases is one thousand, eight hundred, and one (1801) and twenty-five (25) deaths.  The new deaths are two male Rwandans of 80 and 29 years old respectively in Kigali.

17 September 2020 — Nineteen (19) new COVID-19 cases were identified out of 2097 samples tested today. This brings the cumulative number of confirmed cases to four thousand, six hundred, and fifty-three (4653). To date, two thousand, eight hundred, and seventeen (2817) patients have recovered and been discharged, including twenty-eight (28) in the past 24 hours. The number of active cases is one thousand, eight hundred, and thirteen (1813) and twenty-three (23) deaths.  The new death is a male Rwandan of 48 years old in Kigali.

16 September 2020 — Ten (10) new COVID-19 cases were identified out of 1603 samples tested today. This brings the cumulative number of confirmed cases to four thousand, six hundred, and thirty-four (4634). To date, two thousand, seven hundred, and eighty-nine (2789) patients have recovered and been discharged, including twenty-two (22) in the past 24 hours. The number of active cases is one thousand, eight hundred, and twenty-three (1823) and twenty-two (22) deaths.  

Abuja, 17 September, 2020 - When Nigeria recorded its first COVID-19 case in February, Dr Abdullahi Ibrahim, the officer- in- charge at the Primary Healthcare centre in Byazhin, Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory held a meeting with all the staff and stressed the need to always wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), perform the necessary hand hygiene to protect themselves and adhere to respiratory etiquette, while attending to patients.

Kampala, 17 September 2020: - “As we mark this year’s World Patient Safety Day, it is imperative to note that the current COVID-19 pandemic poses huge challenges and risks to health workers in Uganda, and globally. Working in stressful environments makes health workers more prone to errors which might occasionally cause bodily harm to patients,” said Dr Diana Atwine, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Uganda as the country commemorated World Patient Safety Day 2020.

15 September 2020 — Twenty-two (22) new COVID-19 cases were identified out of 1935 samples tested today. This brings the cumulative number of confirmed cases to four thousand, six hundred, and twenty-four (4624). To date, two thousand, seven hundred, and sixty-seven (2767) patients have recovered and been discharged, including thirty-one (31) in the past 24 hours. The number of active cases is one thousand, eight hundred, and thirty-five (1835) and twenty-two (22) deaths.
