Abuja, The Government of Nigeria has launched a nationwide integrated vaccination campaign targeting more than 106 million people across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. 

The campaign delivers measles–rubella, polio vaccines, and HPV vaccination, to close immunity gaps and protect children and adolescents from life-threatening diseases.

The World Health Organization (WHO) and the Carter Center have signed a new cooperation agreement, worth US$300,000, which guarantees the continuity of activities to fight Guinea worm disease in the province of Cunene. The agreement reinforces the commitment of both organizations to support Angola in eliminating this Neglected Tropical Disease (NTD), which is targeted for global eradication by 2030. 

Addis Ababa, 14 October 2025 — Ethiopia has taken a major step forward in the fight against tuberculosis (TB) by launching a national AI-powered digital X-ray system for TB screening. The launch, held on 18 September 2025 during the Annual Tuberculosis, Leprosy and Other Lung Diseases Review Meeting, was officiated by Dr Dereje Duguma, State Minister of Health.

Addis Ababa, 24 September 2025 — The World Health Organization (WHO) has officially handed over 315 computers — including 165 laptops and 150 desktops — to the Ethiopian Public Health Institute (EPHI) under the Pandemic Fund: Ethiopia Multi-Sectoral Prevention, Preparedness, and Response Project (EPPR).

Zambia has taken a major step toward bolstering national health security with the launch of the National Simulation Exercise (SimEx) Framework on 4 September 2025 in Lusaka.
