The Zimbabwean Government in partnership WHO and other various stakeholders is working towards developing a National Viral Hepatitis Strategic plan (2019 – 2022) to bring the rising epidemic under control in the country, a senior Government official has said. 

The Ministry of Health and Child Care (MoHCC)  in partnership with the World Health Organisation (WHO) held an Emergency Response Preparedness Training in Supply Chain and Logistics workshop, in Kadoma, in a bid to strengthen supply chain and logistics management systems within the MoHCC during disease outbreaks.

The World Health Organization (WHO) with funds from the Global Environmental Facility (GEF) is engaged in a five-year multi-country project on Integrated Vector Management (IVM), and this project is known as the AFRO II project.

Abuja, 24 May 2019 - As Borno State is affected by an on-going measles outbreak, WHO, UNICEF and Gavi – the Vaccine Alliance completed a campaign that successfully vaccinated more than 1.2 million children between 6 and 71 months with lifesaving vaccine against measles. 

The newly appointed Representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) to the Republic of Rwanda, Dr Kasonde Mwinga, presented her credentials to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Dr Richard Sezibera, on the 22 of May 2019. The Minister accepted the credentials and welcomed Dr Mwinga to Rwanda. In her remarks, the WHO Representative congratulated the Government of Rwanda for its various achievements in the health sector.

WHO Regional Office for Africa, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health of Rwanda, organised in Kigali, from 22nd to 23rd May 2019, a technical meeting on cross-border health security issues for Operational Readiness, Surveillance and Response.
