Five tobacco control champions from the WHO African Region have been recognized at the 2026 World No Tobacco Day Awards for outstanding work in policy, research, and advocacy. The awardees — from South Africa, Liberia, Burkina Faso, and Nigeria — reflect the Region’s growing leadership in countering nicotine and tobacco addiction.
