Using door-to-door vaccination and fixed vaccination centers in health facilities, the World Health Organization supported over 4000 vaccinators and healthcare workers in May to ensure that every child in Seirra Leone was reached with two drops of the polio vaccine. This activity formed part of the national response campaign to polio outbreak and reached more than 3.3 million children under five years of age.
Comfort Ajayi, a mother of three and resident of Lagos state says she is keenly observing hygiene and taking steps to protect her family from cholera, which has been reported in all the 20 localities of Nigeria’s second most populous state. “In this critical time, I am also guiding my children on how to live responsibly,” she says.
