Cholera Bulletin Issue #2
Despite ending 2023 with welcome rains, Zimbabwe remains vigilant against flood-related challenges and their potential impact on the ongoing cholera outbreak. While case numbers may fluctuate, the human cost – lives lost, families affected, and strained healthcare systems – remains constant.
As schools reopen, implementing government-guided safety measures and reinforcing good hygiene practices with students are crucial. We continue to commend the tireless efforts of healthcare workers, community leaders, and the resilience of those touched by the disease. Their dedication inspires us to fight on.
This update emphasizes the ongoing efforts to contain the outbreak, including rapid case identification and treatment, community engagement, and hygiene promotion.
