WHO São Tomé and Príncipe Newsletter for the 4 Quarter - October to December 2025
The fourth edition of the WHO São Tomé and Príncipe Quarterly Newsletter highlights key achievements from October to December 2025. The country completed both the IHR self‑assessment and the Joint External Evaluation, marking major progress in health security. Important steps were taken in health financing with the publication of the National Health Accounts and international recognition of the National Health Financing Strategy. Immunization efforts improved coverage for zero‑dose children and expanded HPV vaccination, while national strategies for noncommunicable diseases and risk communication were validated. Additional advances were made in mental health, pandemic preparedness, supply chain resilience, and the elimination of mother‑to‑child transmission of HIV. These results reflect strong collaboration between the Ministry of Health, WHO, and partners to build a more resilient and equitable health system.
