Update COVID-19 04 March 2021

04 March 2021 — One hundred, and forty-six (146) new COVID-19 cases were identified out of 4224 samples tested today. This brings the cumulative number of confirmed cases nineteen thousand, three hundred, and thirty-four (19334). To date, seventeen thousand, six hundred, and eighty-two (17682) patients have recovered, including one hundred, and thirteen (113) in the past 24 hours. The number of active cases is one thousand, three hundred, and ninety-six (1396) and two hundred, and sixty-six (266) deaths. 


The new cases are in Kigali (16), Gisagara (15), Ngororero (15), Nyaruguru (13), Bugesera (10), Nyamagabe (10), Karongi (9), Burera (8), Rubavu (8), Kamonyi (6), Nyanza (6), Kirehe (5), Huye (4), Rusizi (4), Ruhango (4), Rwamagana (4), Muhanga (3), Nyagatare (2), Ngoma (2), Gicumbi (1), and Kayonza (1); heightened vigilance is required everywhere.

The COVID-19 prevention measures announced by the Government of Rwanda must continue to be rigorously observed, especially frequent hand-washing and physical distancing. In addition, face masks must be worn in public and multi-family compounds.
Withholding information related to contact tracing or COVID-19 symptoms, jeopardises public safety and will be punished in accordance with applicable laws.
