Brazzaville/Cotonou May 2010 -- The World Health Organization Regional Office for Africa has handed over the management of the Regional Public Health Institute to the Government of Benin at a ceremony in Cotonou, Benin.

The institute was set up in 1977 by the Government of Benin through support from WHO with the aim of training a critical mass of skilled health personnel to support efforts towards improving health outcomes through the implementation of the primary health care.

La cérémonie officielle marquant la 62è Journée Mondiale de la Santé au Bénin s’est déroulée ce mardi 07 avril 2009 au Centre National Hospitalier et Universitaire Hubert Koutoukou MAGA (CNHU-HKM) à Cotonou.

Medecine transfusionnelle et anemies : un atelier national de formation a pris fin a cotonou sur ce theme une soixantaine de professionnels de sante et de techniciens des services de transfusion sanguine a suivi cette formation financee par l'oms avec l'appui technique de la societe Americaine d'hematologie
L'atelier qui a clos ses travaux le 18 janvier 2002 à Cotonou s'était fixé quatre 4 objectifs :
