WHO hosts UN @ 71 commemorations

Harare, 25 October 2016 -  In an event that has been described by many as hugely successful, WHO hosted this year’s colorful  UN Day Celebrations at their Highlands compound. The Zimbabwe UN Country Team (UNCT) marked the 71st  birthday of the UN under the theme  #UN71: Make SDGs a reality for all. The theme  was reflected in the speeches from both the UN and Government representatives as well as in the displays mounted by UN agencies and the photo displays which showcased how the UN in Zimbabwe is working towards making SDGs a reality for all Zimbabweans.

Launch of WCO/Zimbabwe CCS and the National Health Strategy

Murewa, 25 January 2017 - WCO/Zimbabwe’s  3rd generation Country Cooperation Strategy (CCS 2016-2020)  was concurrently launched with the National Health Strategy (NHS 2016-2020)  at a huge event held at Murewa District Hospital.  The joint and colorful function,  was attended by many players in health – including senior Government officials, parliamentarians, civil society organizations and members of the local communities in Murewa District; as well as health development partners and donors.

WHO Zimbabwe and Swedish Embassy strengthen relations

21 March 2017 - In a move that is meant to strengthen relations between WHO Zimbabwe and the Swedish Embassy, the new Swedish Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Her Excellence, Mrs Sophia Calltorp, and the Desk Officer for Health, Ms Angelica Broman paid a courtesy call to WHO Zimbabwe Country Office to discuss areas of cooperation through their aid agency SIDA (Swedish International Development Agency).

Global launch of WCO/Zimbabwe CCS

Harare, 21 March 2017 - WHO/Zimbabwe  3rd generation Country Cooperation Strategy (CCS 2016-2020)  was relaunched via video feed across the 3 levels of the Organization. Zimbabweans urged to talk about depression

Harare, 7 April 2017 - Zimbabwe joined the rest of the world in commemorating World Health Day at Harare Central Hospital grounds in an event which also saw the official opening of the psychiatric OPD and renovated in-patient departments; as well as the launch of the Mental Health Discharge Guidelines. World Health Day was commemorated under the theme Depression; Let’s talk, which draws attention to the global burden of this common mental disor-der.
