Minister encourages inclusive implementation in health

Harare, 7 April 2011 -- The Government of Zimbabwe (GoZ) and the United Nations Country Team (UNCT) have signed the Zimbabwe United Nations Development Assistance Framework (ZUNDAF) for the 2012–2015 cycle. The ZUNDAF is the UN’s strategic programme framework to support national development priorities for the period 2012—2015 as well as the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) by 2015.

WCO celebrates World Health Day in style

Zimbabwe to set up CRS sentinel surveillance site

Harare, 27 Sept. 2011 -- Zimbabwe will become the first country in the sub-region to set up a congenital rubella syndrome (CRS) sentinel surveillance site. The site will be at Harare Children's Hospital. The sentinel site will help in documenting the burden of the disease in Zimbabwe and also provide evidence for future control actions. Presently there is no reliable information of the disease burden in Zimbabwe which makes the planning of appropriate interventions difficult.

Meeting to finalize NTD plans for 2012 kicks off in Harare

Harare, 19 Mar. 2012 A meeting to finalize National Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTD) master plans and annual plans for 2012 in the WHO African Region kicked off today in Harare at the Crown Plaza. The meeting, which has participants from Ghana, Ethiopia, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Tanzania (Mainland and Zanzibar), Zambia, Uganda ,Zimbabwe, WHO AFRO, HQ, World Bank, and the Global Network for NTDs will be running from 19-23 March.

Zimbabwe Commemorates World TB Day
