Victoria, Seychelles, 22nd May 2019 - The HIV epidemic remains one of the major public health and development challenges in Seychelles. The country has a concentrated HIV epidemic with high levels of HIV amongst certain key populations at higher risk of HIV exposure including the youth, people who inject drugs, men who have sex with men and sex workers. The country’s HIV and AIDS situation was echoed during the launching of the National Strategic Plan for HIV, AIDS and Viral Hepatitis 2019-2023 (NSP) which took place recently in a ceremony at the Savoy Resort in Beau Vallon, Seychelles.

Victoria, Seychelles, 29 March 2019 - The Minister of Health of the Republic of Seychelles, Honorable Jean Paul Adam has shared Seychelles experiences on Universal Health Coverage at the Second WHO Africa Health Forum: 

Seychelles 14th September 2018 – Seychellois children will now be better protected against diseases caused by Pneumococcal bacteria such as Pneumonia, Meningitis and infection of the blood and middle ear. This was announced by the Minister of Health Honorable Jean Paul Adam, following the official launching of the introduction of the Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccine (PCV) into the country’s routine immunisation programme on Tuesday 11th September 2018. 

Victoria, Seychelles, 3 September 2018 - The United Nations and the Seychelles Government has signed a Strategic Partnership Framework (SPF) which consolidate their commitment to support the country’s effort to meet the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by the year 2030. Seychelles, 22 August 2018 - In response to the need to have a holistic information system that can continuously collect, analyse and interpret data related to nutrition, the World Health Organisation (WHO) is supporting the Ministry of Health in Seychelles to develop the country’s Nutrition Information System (NIS).

Seychelles, 6th August 2018 - Ministry of Health in collaboration with World Health Organisation (WHO) has ended a two days workshop to develop the Seychelles Nation Action Plan on Health Security (NAPHS). The workshop took place at the Savoy Hotel, Beau Vallon, Mahe on Wednesday 1st and Thursday 2nd August 2018. It was facilitated by two WHO staff, Dr Allan Mpairwea and Mr Antonio Oke and brought together multi stakeholders including various line Ministries and agencies, Laboratories, Educational institutions, Media houses, and Port and Airport authorities.
