Public Health Situation Analysis in the Central African Republic – December 2025
The World Health Organization (WHO) in the Central African Republic publishes the Public Health Situation Analysis (PHSA), updated as of December 2025.
This report provides a comprehensive and up-to-date overview of the humanitarian and public health context in the country, which continues to be affected by a protracted crisis, population displacement, food insecurity, and significant pressure on an already fragile health system.
The analysis highlights:
key public health threats, including malaria, measles, tuberculosis, HIV, epidemic-prone diseases, maternal and neonatal health risks, trauma, and non-communicable diseases;
the main determinants of health, such as conflict, climate-related shocks, poverty, and protection risks affecting vulnerable populations;
the status and functionality of the health system, including disruptions and attacks on health care;
priority humanitarian health needs and the implications of reduced humanitarian funding.
This document serves as a critical evidence-based tool to inform decision-making, planning, and coordination for national authorities, humanitarian and development partners, and all stakeholders involved in strengthening the health response in the Central African Republic.
