Strengthening Health Financing in Angola

Angola has made significant strides in rebuilding its health system since the end of its civil conflict in 2002. That notwithstanding, the country still faces significant challenges in delivering equitable, quality, and affordable health services. Despite improvements in some health indicators, the health sector remains underfunded, highly dependent on out-of-pocket (OOP) payments, and vulnerable to economic shocks due to its reliance on oil revenues.
