On the 19th of June, 2013 -- the WHO Country Office handed over to the Ministry of Health Zanzibar vehicles and medical equipment to strengthen provision of Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (MNCH), Immunization and district health services in Zanzibar.

The items worth total of USD 122,310 handed over included: 3 vehicles, 11 refrigerators, 200 fridge tags and 1000 freeze tags, laboratory supplies, 50 Blood pressure measuring sets and 50 delivery kits.

On the 6th September, 2013, the WHO Country Office handed over to the Nyangao Nursing School, two blue trunk libraries to strengthen district health services in Lindi Region. The handing over occasion took place at the WHO County Office premises and was witnessed by the Principal of the Nyangao Nursing school, Mr. Kizito Tamba; the HRH officer from Nyangao Nursing School and WHO Country Office staff.

On 11th February 2014, the Catholic Church in Tanzania launched the Test and Treat Project which will be implemented in Bugisi District in Shinyanga Region. The occasion which was a Catholic Holy Mass, was held at premises of the Catholic Church Headquarters in Tanzania and led by the Archbishop of Mwanza, Jude Thaddaeus Ruwa’ichi.

The meeting held in Dar es Salaam and officiated by the Deputy Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Hon. Dr. Kebwe Steven Kebwe, gathered senior officials from the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare (MOHSW), development partners, representatives from NGOs and CSOs and other health stakeholders.
