WHO Sao Tome and Principe - Special Edition publication
Special Edition produced by the WHO Country Office in São Tomé and Príncipe, highlighting a historic milestone in national health governance.
On 15 April 2026, the Government signed an Interministerial Commitment Memorandum for Multisectoral Action in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention, together with the launch of three key national health strategies for the period 2026–2030.
This commitment operationalizes the principle of “Health in All Policies” and reflects strong political leadership and multisectoral engagement.
The publication highlights the significance of this advancement, the catalytic role of WHO, and its importance in addressing noncommunicable diseases, which account for approximately 70% of all deaths in the country.
