Vax & Pharm Project Brief
Ghana is boosting its capacity to produce vaccines and essential medicines through the Vax & Pharm-Ghana Project, a partnership between the Government, WHO, and the EU.
With 70% of medicines imported and no local vaccine production, Ghana remains vulnerable to global supply disruptions, as seen during COVID-19.
To change this, Ghana has developed a 10-year vaccine manufacturing roadmap and set up the National Vaccine Institute. The Vax & Pharm-Ghana Project is driving this vision by strengthening systems for local production.
