Official visit of Mr Manuel Fontaine, UNICEF Regional Director for West and Central Africa to WHO Regional Office for Africa in Congo Brazzaville

a1d9a2c16784a3945b45df87810f48ee_XL.jpg25 September 2013,  Brazzaville -- The UNICEF Regional Director for West and Central Africa, Mr Manuel Fontaine paid an official visit to the World Health Organization  Regional Office for Africa in Brazzaville, Congo on Wednesday. The aim of the visit was to further strengthen collaboration between UNICEF and WHO as well as boost the partnership mechanism of Harmonization for Health in Africa (HHA) in support to countries.
 
Welcoming Mr Fontaine and his delegation, Dr Luis Sambo, the WHO Regional Director for Africa, congratulated the UNICEF Regional Director on his new appointment and expressed willingness to strengthen the existing collaboration between the two United Nations agencies both at regional and country level. 

During a meeting with the senior management team of WHO Regional Office for Africa, both parties focused their discussions on activities that could accelerate progress towards the attainment of women and child health international goals.
 
Mr Manuel Fontaine was accompanied by Dr Aloys Kamuragiye, UNICEF Representative for the Republic of Congo.
