Governing Bodies
The Governing Bodies Sub-unit facilitates interaction and engagement of and among Member States of the African Region at the different statutory meetings of WHO in order to serve the broad ideals of security, socio-economic development and social progress of the Region through health-related services and systems development.
Objectives/functions
The functions of the Governing Bodies Sub-unit are to:
- Facilitate the participation of Member States of the African Region in the regional and global health debate (e.g Executive Board Meeting of the WHO; World Health Assemblies, Regional Committees of the African Region) .
- Ensure that the resolutions and decisions taken by the Governing Bodies are implemented, monitored, evaluated and reported by the Member States.
