WHO donates Drugs, Laboratory Equipment and Supplies to the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare
Monrovia, Liberia:
On behalf of Dr. Margaret Chan (Director-General of the World Health Organization) and Dr. Luis G. Sambo (WHO Regional Director for Africa), the WHO Country Office for Liberia is delighted to donate drugs, laboratory equipment and supplies to the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare. The donation is valued at over US$300,000.00 (Three Hundred Thousand United States Dollars).
In an effort to contribute to the continuous initiatives by the Government of Liberia to meet the needs of the health care delivery system through the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, WHO is donating these drugs, laboratory equipment and supplies made possible with the Human Security Trust Fund/Japanese Grant and the Spanish Grant. These are meant to facilitate the ongoing response by the MOHSW to provide essential medicines, strengthen service laboratories in nine counties.
