The mission of the Accounts and Finance Management Unit (AFM) is to offer financial management and budget advisory services to the Clusters and Country Offices in the Region.


Objectives/functions

The Accounts and Finance Management Unit (AFM) is one of the Units of the Office of Director, Administration and Finance (DAF). DAF is responsible for ensuring the optimal use and rational management of the African Region’s financial, technical and human resources. AFM offers financial management and budget advisory services to the 8 Divisions, 3 Intercountry Support Teams (ISTs) and 46 Country Offices in the Region whose total biennium budget is in excess of one billion US Dollars.

AFM’s main functions include the following:

  • Budget Management
  • Imprest Management
  • Payroll Management
  • Claims Processing
  • Production of Monthly Accounts
  • Treasury
  • Staff Health Insurance
