Regional targets

The regional targets are as follows:

• To ensure that all countries have developed and implemented their health technology management policy; their national laboratory policy and plan and established well functioning and integrated national health laboratory service networks; that patient safety issues are well known and addressed; transplantation services have developed policy and national legal framework on human organ and tissue donation and transplantation.
• To ensure that the targets set in the regional strategy for blood safety and adopted by Member states in 2001 are fully achieved by 2012.
