Dr. Tigest Ketsela is the Director of the Health Promotion Cluster in the WHO Regional office for Africa (WHO/AFRO). A paediatrician and a public health specialist by profession, Dr. Ketsela has more than 25 years of experience in public health at various levels of national health systems-from the district to the Federal Ministry of Health.

She has also gained a lot of international experience through her several consultative works in the different WHO Regions from 1997 to 2001. She has been working with WHO/AFRO since 2001.
