Sous-Directeur Régional (ARD)
Mission and functions
The mission of the Office of the Deputy Regional Director (DRD) is to support the Regional Director who is the Head of the WHO Regional Office for Africa.
The functions of the Office are:
- To coordinate the support to WHO Country Offices, including strengthening in-country presence
- To coordinate the support to countries for reducing the health consequences of public health emergencies, natural disasters, and conflict, and minimize their social and economic impact
- To promote an enabling environment and build capacity for effective collaboration and partnerships and for resource mobilization
- To coordinate and support the deployment of the Global Management System, WHO's Enterprise Resource Planning, which is a single integrated administrative and management system
- To ensure the smooth and efficient running of the Regional Director's Office.
