Managerial organs

The following managerial organs have been set up to ensure effective management of the work of WHO Regional Office for Africa.

Executive Management Committee
The Executive Management Committee provides overall policy and strategic guidance about the Regional Office's programmes and budget, and their implementation.

Regional Programme Meeting
The Regional Programme Meeting provides overall guidance for WHO's technical collaboration with Member States in the African Region. It coordinates the preparation, implementation and evaluation of the regional programme and health development activities at the country level.

Management Development Committee
The Management and Development Committee coordinates the work of all divisions and programmes and ensures consistency with the decisions of the Regional Director and the Director-General.

Monitoring and Evaluation Committee
The Monitoring and Evaluation Committee coordinates the monitoring, review and evaluation of the implementation of the programme budget and the corresponding operational plans.

General Assembly
The General Assembly provides an opportunity for interactions between the Regional Director and all staff of the Regional Office.
