The functions of the Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) Programme are:
- To build national and regional capacity to develop sexual and reproductive health policies, programmes and strategies
- To adapt, disseminate and implement norms, standards and tools for SRH services
- To improve access to effective quality SRH services including family planning through the promotion of partnership at all levels
- To establish an efficient integrated surveillance system with a special emphasis on sexual and reproductive health
- To generate and collate evidence-based information on SRH
- To foster the documentation and dissemination of best practices on SRH for advocacy, policy and programme development, monitoring and evaluation.
- To strengthen coordination and networking on research development on key issues related to sexual and reproductive health
