The key functions of the Non Communicable Disease Prevention & Control programme are to:
- provide support and promote NPC programs using cost-effective and community-based approaches;
- promote primary, secondary and tertiary prevention;
- develop guidelines and support the use of affordable strategies and technologies for delivery of quality care services;
- support, document and disseminate experience in implementing comprehensive and integrated policies and plans of action on NCDs including at primary care level;
- foster operational research on NCDs and their risk factors.
