Strengthen the African Health Monitor as a multilingual peer-reviewed periodical that serves as a medium for the publication of articles that monitor the health situation and trends; and track progress toward the health-related Millennium Development Goals and other internationally agreed-upon goals; and reports on other relevant health issues and interventions.

  • Stimulate more manuscript submissions to the African Health Monitor
  • Stimulate increased French and Portuguese manuscript submissions
  • Strengthen the peer-review process for better relevance and quality articles
  • Strengthen the engagement of the Core Group and Editorial Committee
  • Improve overall quality and timeliness of production of the Monitor
  • Ensure wider access by policy and decision makers to the Monitor
